Now that I only work part-time, I have dedicated myself to actually working on my book and other freelance projects. I’m happy to say I made some major progress on the book. I outlined both the introduction and the first chapter, which doesn’t sound like much, but these are very in-depth outlines. They’re also necessary for my agent.
People often tell me they think my job would be exciting. I say, sitting in your living room in your nightgown outlining chapters isn’t very exciting. What IS exciting is seeing your words in print, and all of the trappings that come with that. This is all a new process for me. I was asked by my first publisher to write my first book, not the other way around. I didn’t have to hire an agent and hunt around for interested publishers. My book outlines and my book proposal was very short, sweet, and to-the-point compared to what I am having to do now. But it’s worth it. Definitely.
I’ll keep you guys posted on my progress.
